Shut up. I needed a kitten stealing a pancake on my blog.
Honestly, if you don’t need a kitten stealing a pancake on your blog, it had better be because you already have a kitten stealing a pancake on your blog.
Now I want pancakes
My kids are getting ready for their first day of school tomorrow- ____ is going into 7th and _______ into 2nd grade. Tonight I will remind them of all the normal parental things- smile, put your hand up, take turns, pack your school bag the night before- you know the basics, but I am also going to remind them of a few others that are less basic but likely more important.
Strangers are just friends we haven’t met yet (unless they are in a van with candy!), but friends can also become strangers and it is good to be watchful for both.
Value friendships & show loyalty, but also bravery when acts of kindness are needed. It is not always easy to do the right thing even for grown ups.
Reach out to someone who seems lost or shy, just because they aren’t seeking attention doesn’t mean they wouldn’t appreciate it.
When you see crazy coming, go the other direction- you can’t change crazy. Don’t engage with crazy, it will just make YOU crazy!
When someone shows you who they truly are, believe them (for good or bad). If you choose to ignore it or live with it, don’t be surprised when it affects you.
Don’t be afraid to stand out, be different or move away from people who are not acting in a way that you agree with. It is better to be alone than compromise your values.
I will also be reviewing this list myself this year
Happy last night before school everyone!
Our science teacher had us play a game where we had to find the similarities between two things. A question we had was “What’s the similarity between Humans and Corn?”
One girl in the back of our class was called on and she looked my teacher straight in the eyes and said very calmly, “You can eat them both”
The answer was ears.
